I don't really care for the GELCORE traffic lights due to chiclet pattern

i like both of them....the look of the GEL Core's i think is kinda cool,its obvious they are going for the Incandescent effect with its design though the dialight is pretty realistic...looks very incandescent like...and they are currently selling more of those than the GELcores.

Our LED traffic lights (Which are actually former incandescent traffic lights) have an incandescent feel, when looking at the front and at an angle, so they probably contains Dialights.

That's both Dialight and GE Lumination (formerly known as GELcore) old designs. The new GE and Dialight designs look similar, both have a screen like pattern. I'll get a pic if interested.

New Dialight Design: New_Dialight_Red and New_Dialight_Green The original design (first crosshatch, and then diamond lenses) was better, and lit the signal fuller. The GE GT1 model is identical to this, but lights up alot better. The GT1 module is flat, and the Dialight is more cone/boxy like.

Oh I have seen these GT1s around the denver area. I was wondering what brand they were, looks like I just found it out.

These aren't GT1. These are the Dialight. GT1 looks similar to them. Its very hard to tell the difference without opening up the head. Maybe this weekend I'll open up and shoot pics of the signal I have with the arrows.

Okay then. I wonder, where could I find a GT1 green one? I would like to have one of those.

A brand new GT1 from GE would probably be around $195/each. I have yet to see any for sale. However I have seen the new model Dialights on ebay about a month back for much cheaper then factory-price

yeah. that dialight up in this pic is from ebay for very cheap price. and I have that leotek LED yellow module that I got in that Traffic blinker light that I found on the side of the road. All of my traffic light LED modules I got for free except this dialight.

I had a 2003 Dialight Red (Crosshatch) 2005 Dialight Green Arrow (Diamond pattern) both were sold off. I bought the four GE GT1 arrows from 2007 in my left turn. And three Dialight (diamond pattern) in my Mark IV. I also have a Quixote Countdown LED module in my 16 inch housing.

Well, GELcore was the old name for the whole GE traffic LED line. It's no longer used, switched to GE Lumination a year or two back. The module you have is the RX-11. That was their earlier design, basically throwing a lens over a LED array, since high flux LED modules were still in it's infancy back in the early 2000's. GE's GT1 model, was like the Dialight. Using a small bank of high-flux LEDs combined with two mated lenses, clear fresnel and colored.

As far as I know GE still sells both the RX-11 and the GT-1 models.

How is the GELCORE LEDs connected? I have seen an 8 inch red (which i used to own) with 80 LEDs and 5 transformers...inside....

But I have seen some like thie GELCORE above exactly near me, and I have seen some that just has 3 LEDs flickering while rest of the LEDS work just fine (and the 3 LEDs are next to each other in the pixels)

Yeah, as you see in the other picture, an opened GELcore is a pixelated LED in rows with a lens over it. A couple in my green one flicker a TINY bit, but not are noticable with the lenses on.

Here is the site of SCAE, Italy, that makes our signals of the traffic lights in Israel.
Their LED signals comes not just the LEDs arrays themselves like in this picture, but as complete signals, and have an incandescent signal appearance.
Seems that each part of the traffic signals in North American is from another manufacturer.
So our signals for our traffic lights are made by SCAE, Italy.

I've noticed at least around here the Gelcore's seem to have early failure with sections of the board.
