Never seen a Black M250R2..this sort of thing happens with M400R2's in my area...you have 99.9 Precent that are standard grey, and then a loner thats black.

There is a detection infrared camera upon this fixture to record road accidents and drivers that do a traffic violation.

Actually you are partly right, but not totally....they are actually infared system that sense car usually for left turns or very low traffic roads so it would allow traffic light system to change green for you,.....the older systems had under road pressure sensor....in Baltimore City in old days (1950s) they used Sonic Radar systems! Usually the cameras....for road volations are much bigger and lower in the USA and for traffic reports they are dome shaped

Such infrared system we also have in Israel in "Smart" traffic lights system that turn the traffic lights green only in roads that there are cars. But they aren't installed on a road fixture or a lamppost (I even don't know where they are located in Israel).

Usually I don't see them on a lamppost...usually on the mast itself....but sometimes a specific angle is needed to make it work....so this was the "Best spot" but you can see a lot are on the traffic light masts ....check out Form109's signal albums...you'll notice it seems most are mounted on the most left side because sometimes those are mostly used for left turns......even my album has the same thing.....except they aren't mounted as high as Form109's pic which has tall pole attached...

not sure what kind of camera other places are using...but the one's we use are actually capable of snapshots and video, but are normally used for vehicle detection and i think they might be able to somewhat adjust the timing of phase changes but im not sure.

in my Signal Photo album (like jace mentioned) there are plently of pics where these camera's show up in.
depending on traffic.
