Here is the new Stab-Lok breaker box, it is still 100 amps but it looks much more modern and takes up quite a lot less space.

I think I see a surge protector on the panel too, nice touch!

Yep! I talked them into putting it in for free!

What brand panel is this?
gailgrove   [Oct 19, 2011 at 11:08 PM]
Federal Pioneer, it is the Stab-Lok series. As far as I know these are only available in Canada.

I would have to say yes because I've never seen a panel like that.

They were also sold in the US under the Federal Pacific Stab-Lok brand name a while back. The US versions had some issues though. The Canadian versions as far as I know don't have these problems.

I'm not sure how much I like these panels, they seem to be good enough quality but they do look strange with the tiny colour coded breakers. I'm hoping to replace my Dad's panel sometime (not the whole service luckily) but I'm debating which brand would be the best, the four choices here are mostly, Siemens, Square D, Cutler-Hammer and these Stab-Lok panels, I'm sure you can get GE panels too but they seem to be special order.
