inside the City PAL's are Typically Floodlights,Nema's and Powerbrackets...though this is far north of the city it's still technically in the City Limits.
BGE PAL lights are pretty much the same as the public road lights....they are cobraheads, floods, NEMAs..even posttops and shoe box lights...installed and serviced by BGE itself...
PEPCO ONLY works on lights on wooden poles...nothing else....cobraheads generally used in public roads...and sometimes but rarely used as PAL lights...for PEPCO the PAL lights are mostly powerbrackets of all kinds!
For SMECO (Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative) I have noticed uses mostly NEMAs in all with cobraheads for high wattages...but for private area lighting, I notice they use mostly 30 inch arms with NEMAs
For Delmarva, they use the same thing plus floods in public roads and in PAL like BGE....
For Allegheny Power in MD...They use NEMA buckets (AND STILL DOES) for PAL lighting and cobraheads for high wattages. They use all cobraheads for public roads. I have noticed MH Cooper OVLs used for private lighting.
In conclusion....electrical companies do and use different things...and the fact that PEPCO is pretty LAZY!
