Homemade dual-purpose clear MV "fixture"
Some time ago, I undressed the arc tube from its Yttrium Vanadate coat (originally it had been a MBF lamp) and used an old Bakelite ceiling fixture base and a jar from pickles to make this "lamp/fixture".
As the only way to get a clear MV lamp here is to order it overseas in wattages for 120V power system (a HPS/MH ballast for a lower wattage without the igniter could be used though) I made a light source my for special photography purposes on my own.
The glass effectively blocks all the UV (no trace of ozone can be smelled). When unscrewed, it can be used as a germicidal lamp. (-:
