Ive never come across them anywhere in the GTA. I have only seen them in the Niagara region.

Yeah same here, pole top signal mounts are very rarely used here.

Its also interesting how they have a normal steel pole here and the signal to the right. The rest of the intersection uses the "downtown" style postops. It was an older CGE setup too, All fortran now and this one eagle signal. Theres just a small business that this signal lights for. I assume it was just an addition or requested signal for that business. Didnt care about anything fancy and just put up basic poles. My guess is 20 yrs ago? Judging by the colouration of the eagle signal.

Update they replaced the pole and signal with a new fortran top and bottom brackets pole mounted

I figured they would do that. I don't think they install new signals with a post top mount anymore. They always seemed a bit flimsy to me especially with the poly signals.

Eagle Durasig on short Niagara style pole.

This is one signal setup like this I know of here, in fact even the whole GTA! Niagara region uses them quite a bit still (close to USA/Canada Border, Buffalo, for some of you who dont know where Niagara is) Its held up from the bottom and looks like it was just screwed into the pole.
