Wow, I saved 3 watts: GE Edison 57w halogens
They saved 3 watts per lamp on these newer GE halogens and reduced lumens from 900 to 790(filaments also look kinda thin) - rather a rip-off, I think. I bought a number of these as replacements for my Halogenas now that the double-ended capsules are starting to become scarce (and I don't care for the single-ended capsule versions), but didn't notice the lumen reduction until I studied the package after I bought them. I hope these lamps work out OK...I have some 2nd generation 60w GE's that are doing fine, but my two 1st generation ones (with only one pinch in the capsule) blackened quickly and died early.

Have you thought of checking out Kmart? They sell Sylvania 60w (yes, I said 60w, not 57w lol) BT-15 halogens with the double ended capsules. They came from Germany.
