Usually the halogen capsule in the Bent Tip shaped bulb like this usually enlarged to fit in the capsule than the regular Bent Tip. If you go to the store and compare with this one and the regular Bent Tip version, it would be more apparent Razz

Yep I know what you mean, it is definitely wider than the standard incandescent bent tip.

Okay I don't get it, It is first started to be made in the USA, they get shipped to China, then BACK to the USA??? Sounds like a lot of wasted trip money to me.

Yes I agree, but Philips doesn't have manufacturing equipment to make candelabra base lamps that's why they ship the capsules to china for final assembly. Medium base Philips halogens are all assembled in Mexico.

The Philips EcoVantage line now has decorative chandelier bulbs. Capsule in the 40w lamp is made in the USA, final assembly is done in China.
