Supposed to be 60w equivalent. Indeed bright but kinda directional, best when used base up to light a room. It has 12 Osram Olson LEDs, 6 red and 6 warm white. That achieves the 2700K temperature but it has a high red content compared to incandescents.

UPDATE: This lamp has color shift! When turned on cold it has a very pinkish orange color. In base up operation in the fan, after an hour it looked almost exactly like an incandescent, just a very slight hint of pink. In base down operation it remains pinkish but less so than when turned on cold. Odd eh?

Wow....that is indeed interesting!!!....since you are collecting LED lamps I've noticed....why don't you give each one your own personal rating to give us a better idea and compariation?

I am not really here to rate LEDs, I am just a technical guy who wanted to see how they work and light up. Also they are the early generation of LEDs that will be hard to get later, so I ought to buy a few. I have 4 modern LEDs now. A Feit PAR20, a GE PAR30 long neck, a Philips 12.5w AmbientLED, and now the Sylvania here. I will continue to specialize in older stuff though.

LEDs for me that I know of they do not last very long in time Rolling Eyes and they bug my eyes like crazy when I look at them Shocked . And at a school they got LEDs put up then after one week they do NOT WORK of lighting up so they are dead but these are LEDs street lights I mean

@lightkid, quality of LEDs vary a lot, but driver unit reliability is still an issue. I have seen some whole LEDs suddenly quit, both in street lights and retrofit lamps. Its not the LEDs themselves but the driver unit that runs them.

@prawnman88, some LEDs have 60hz flicker. LEDs run on DC but some cheap driver units still pass the 60hz frequency to the emitters. The Philips and Sylvania 60w equivalents shown here don't have this problem tho.

Rych, not ALL LEDS flicker.....I have 5 LED lamps.....3 of them reflector style and 2 more like an A19 shape..but not exactly.....only 1 flickers...the other 4 does not flicker AT ALL!!!

Dave, red AlInGaP LEDs are far more sensitive toward temperature than blue and phosphor-converted InGaN LEDs, which have a much more constant flux output. The consequence is that when these two kinds of LEDs are combined in a single heatsink, the flux ratio between the red and the blue/yellow/green outputs then varies with the base temperature of the lamp. That's the reason behind your observed color shift.
