One of the OLDEST street lights in Southern California!
Inverness Dr in western Pasadena near La Canada Flintridge is lined with these. They are close to 100 years old. I imagine they originally had tipped street series incandescent lamps. Today the bulbs are chinese cheapos, but still series. This is one of the few still with the original reflectors, many had their reflectors replaced by shiny metal bowl-like reflectors.

A bit more info, this is the part of Pasadena west of the 210, very wealthy. 90% of the street lights are guess what? Incandescent! Edison must be proud, lol.

wonder what kind of lamps they will use when the Incandescent Ban kicks into effect...if they are even still there.
Silverliner14B   [Oct 01, 2010 at 03:44 AM]
The ban does not affect street lighting lamps.
Form109   [Oct 01, 2010 at 03:57 AM]
ok so it only affects lamps sold in stores like for you house n stuff?
GullWhiz   [Oct 01, 2010 at 01:51 PM]
it affects most regular lamp for regular household lamps...but doesn't affect speciality lamps....or specific size lamps or high wattages.....So there are some special lamps you may have in your house that may not affect the ban.....

Lamps for inside ovens, fridges and microwaves are some of those unaffected, as they are specialist lamps. Funny thing is that here most ovens use a regular E12 or E27 40W golfball lamp ( Defy and it's many trade name versions) so you can get them to use as regular lamps very easily.

We have "Rough-Service" and "Vibration-Service" that are exempt.
