My grandfather's F20
Here's his three lamp F20T12 preheat fixture. It can roatate, as that round disc above the fixture is a swivel. The lamps are cool white, but look like you're stnading under a mercury vapor light. My skin was green! :-D Can someone date this?

Well I've replaced two of the three lamps in this now. the two outer lamps are Sylvania Cool Whites from the early-to-mid 2000s and the center lamp is a 1986 /WW GTE Sylvania lamp. My grandma likes the warm white lamp mixed with the two cool whites since it looks nicer. If I have any more fixes to make to this light I'm going to install all new starters and install 3500K F17T8 lamps to bring this fixture into the 21st century since I'm not going to bother taking this light, as it looks like it would be a pain to remove.

I guess keeping it T12 is fine for the time being unless you have any spare T8s you can put in. I would change the starters out first Razz .

Well, apparently the starter on the center lamp (which was that NOS Sylvania F20/WW I stuck in) has failed (stuck) and the lamp is dark on the ends. I untwisted the starter with the power on and the lamp lit up though (after plenty of preheating lol). I can't remove the starter with the lamp installed though. I will leave the starter untwisted from the socket though so the lamp doesn't fry the ballast inside. I'll stick a new starter in next time I'm there...

Well I brought a starter this past Friday to discover a second lamp is out (with no apparent cause; lamp is not that old and the starter is newer too. I wonder if there's a loose wire or something). So that leaves just one working lamp. I've decided to replace this with an F32T8 strip light to add this to my collection (with my grandma's permission).
