I know this is a open cap. But i had a shorting cap made by FP OLC, Sun-Tech that was different than this. The one i had looked just like their electronic photocontrols. It had the same cover, with the window, and it was black. I just bought it like a year ago and it came directly from Sun-Tech and it was not old stock. This open cap cover looks like the covers on those short Longjoin thermal photocontrols. So maybe Sun-Tech buys open caps from Longjoin and justs stamps their name on them?

The cover is the same size, but this is red, the off-branded cheapo photocells are clear. This was actually used on the light in front of my house when the city decided to shut off some of its lights. After many complaints, Cranston turned all the lights back on. I happened to catch then in the process of turnign it on and after talking with the linman, he siad he was impressed with my knowledge and let me keep the open cap used on the light and a brand new FP Sun-Tech PC that was even still in it's plastic wrapping. Smile

I was talking to some lineman who were replacing a pole down my street a few years ago and they gave me a used Fisher Pierce photocontrol that i think was made in 1999, and a brand new Sun-Tech that was still wrapped in the plastic bag.

Nice. My FP Sun-Tech is dated 8-10 i believe. Cool
