Wheeler Boston Crescent Moon Light
Shown with a 300W "Daylight" incandescent lamp. I think these are actually supposed to take A21 or A23 lamps, but it's either 300W or 60W soft white at the moment since I don't have anything in between. I have clear 300W incandescents but I think the blue lamp looks cool. No idea when it was made, but it seems like a pretty primitive NEMA head. Note the lack of any "ears" for latches. And the casting is VERY thick.

Details on the lamp it's pictured with? Just stick a 13w spiral CFL in there! Laughing

No way! I'd never disgrace one of these beauties by sticking a CFL or an LED in there! Mad Razz Laughing I'd consider a CFL inside an enclosed incandescent like a gumball or something though, since you don't see the bulb. Still not the same effect through the glass though.

Interesting that it's suppose to use a A-21 lamp, I guess before the days of the cobrahead most residential streetlights used medium base lamps. The only energy saving lamp I would stick in this is one of those LED fiament lamps, the fiament pattern might not match the old streetlighting bulbs but at least it looks the best. Razz

Yep most incandescent street lights in neighborhoods used medium base lamps. Correction though, Joe Maurath informed me that most used A23 lamps, with some using PS25 lamps. The lamp above is actually a PS30, which is way too big for this fixture lol.
