Goodies From Jace
I just received a couple empty fixtures from Jace, a GE M-250R and a Line Materials Unistyle 175 that Jace got from Geoff for me. I always wanted a Unistyle 175 as it was one of the first streetlights I noticed which was in front of the house I lived in when I was about 5 years old.The utility here installed some McGraw Edison Unistyles in the late 60's,and when the big change-over to HPS took place in 1992/93,they were all wiped out. Thanks Jace and Geoff!!

Hey Darren...note the label inside the GE M-250R.....by the way sorry that it was painted with some paint that wasn't really a good match..also there used to be a bullet hole in it (try to find 2 areas where the bullet hole used to be!) I must have done a good job fixing the holes! One is on the reflector which is obvious (but smoothed out by me) one is on the door (which I can see...but its harder to find...(find it) and one more is on the top of the body)

Wait, isn't that M250R the one from 1970 you got by yourself?

I would like an OV-15. Maybe I could get one from Jace! xD

Thanks guys, yep I can see the repairs, good job,it's basically ready for repainting.
GullWhiz   [Oct 09, 2010 at 06:10 PM]
Yes Vince this is the same M-250R that had the browned refractor! Because I already had gotten a working GE M-250R...as much as I liked that fixture and stuff, I couldn't have too many and i wanted room for some other fixtures in future....so I gave one to someone who I could trust, someone who could take a WONDERFUL care of it....I kept some parts though.....such as the socket...Darren (the famous Durastar Kisser (by the way you gotta have GUTS to kiss one since they are sooo ugly
)) gets extra stuff also plus taking parts out saves the weight! Shipping wasn't really cheap I tell ya! ...Plus me and Darren has agreed for trades and stuff....I don't sell streetlights or anything, only ask for trades.....

Why do the unistyle-175's always have those marks on the door? It's odd....
streetlight98   [Nov 06, 2011 at 01:15 PM]
The HPS takeover happened here around the same time.
@ Ian, I'm not sure. Kind of strange how the doors always have marks on them....
GullWhiz   [Nov 06, 2011 at 01:43 PM]
Those marks are from the rain.......the water pours in the exact same places rubbing against the exact same area for many years......that's how it happened.....its the shape of the fixture.....and how the door and body is perfectly lined up to each other so when water goes on to the fixture...it slides from the top to the bottom and keeps sliding.......and drips off......seems this particular fixture...here.....may have been a bit tilted to the side (or the pole tilted a bit overtime) and the water sided to the door only one side while other side just drips before even rubbing against the door.........mine is in exact, middle so it was perfectly leveled and straight so both sides has the markings to the perfect middle.......

The bare OV 15s also had similar rain markd on the door.
