Well, with new info We've found, the OVC was the Crouse-hinds predessor to the OVZ. The OVC was made by Crouse-Hinds and was a companion to the OVS. It was only avaliable in 50-150w HPS. It was to allow a lower cost unit to make HPS more affordable.

So they most likely kept the OVC for a longer time in Canada, which is apparently a common practice in the lighting industry!

Like how bare fixtures are still commonly used up here! Very Happy

Have you had any Bare Model 25's up in Canada?
TiCoune66   [Oct 23, 2011 at 01:29 AM]
Yup, there's even one still maintained near me! I also know two more of them very close to my school.

We have them here too, here's a pic of a couple of them. Very Happy

I've also seen silver ones too.

Dunno about Canada, but in the USA the original OVZ which looks like this was replaced by the more current version by '92.

BTW in the USA the very first AE 13s and 25s were silver. I have a recent pic of one.

There are a few OVC that look just like this exept painted, 50w HPS, with clear NEMA tags near me.
LilCinnamon   [Oct 23, 2011 at 02:12 AM]
Were the early Model 25's about the same as they were later? But the model 13 was different, the early model 13 was longer than the 13 right?

But the early Model 25 was very similar (same size and shape and deisgn with a few minor differences) to the regular model 25?
streetlight98   [Oct 23, 2011 at 02:15 AM]
It was still boxy, but the door didn't have a bubble level pad and the disign was a bit simpler. I think the doors are interchangable though
Silverliner14B   [Oct 23, 2011 at 02:18 AM]
The silver AE 13s and 25s were physically the same as the 70s-very early 80s versions, except the early ones didn't have a mount for the bubble level and also they didn't have the ITT logo, only American Electric. The very first AEs were longer and rounded, they had the models Series 13-000 and 15-000.

What did the 15-000 look like?

Thanks. That design looks similar to revere.... Was the origional 327 in David F's gallery called the 327 back then or the 17-000?

I ask to see the insides because that's what I like to see sometimes, I like to see how they are set up and how different they are. It's one of the things I am interested in with streetlights! It's not a crime to ask what the inside looks like.
