Philips 250W metal halide lamp
I found that lamp in the trash bin in the school workshop I worked in during my 1st semester. I've only been able to strike an arc with the current-limited microwave transformer ONCE, for three seconds. Otherwise I can do nothing but an arc just above the stem between the leads.

Such a great dramatic looking picture here with the shadows! The light didn't even go through the arc tube! FIVE STARS FOR THIS PICTURE!

It's weird how the glass refracts the light as well!
