Before and After front of MD Capital building!
This is before and after! On the left was dated to Summer of 1980 and the right was in December 28, 2007.

Note there was powerline poles with a Silverliner and in the distance was a incandescent Line Materials Gumball on a 4 foot upsweep arm with external wiring (probably already parallel....)

In after picture...the powerlines are gone!

This is one of my favorites of yours. Smile

always great to see a Before and After shot.

in all Honesty i like 1980 Better..it LOOKS like an alley should. Very Happy

oh its not really an alley....theres actually 8 roads going around the Capital building...so this was one of the 8 roads...some of the others still has powerlines and one of them has a Westinghouse MO-8
See map here

Still plenty of older lights in this area!

Also be sure to check out some photos here (a bit slow on this link so give it 15 seconds or so till pictures appears don't zoom in or out)

I looked on that google map and I notice they have the same kind of streetlights that Allegheny Power has in their system, remote pc Westinghouse OV-12's etc.
GullWhiz   [Aug 26, 2010 at 01:43 AM]
Yes Sir! LOTS OF OV-12s in Annapolis.....LOTS! Plus GE M-400 remote PC.....in PEPCO..all their OV-12s are internal PC!

near me.....about 5 min radius I know of like roughly 10 OV-12s in service and 2 OV-14Bs and a WHOLE lot of OV-15s and many GE M-250R and GE M-250R1s

And I repeat...this is not an alley....Downtown Annapolis has a lot of narrow one way roads....just like Frederick, MD! It's because it has older preserved buildings and they chose to leave the buildings alone and not tear down buildings just to widen the road!

Too bad they don't preserve any old buildings here in Pittsburgh, PA. They just demolish them regardless of their history, I heard they also want to tear down the old Mellon Arena.

I was in Annapolis in 1981, as well as Norfolk VA, I saw a lot of mercs. In fact I was in Lewes, DE and they had MV gumballs. In Norfolk they were just starting to change to HPS then.

We still have a lot of mercs.....VA has more HPS but has mercs too.....
