General Electric M-400 A with plastic refractor.
One of the commonalities of Colorado Springs. An M-400 A. Most have glass refractors but you do find some with plastic ones. This one is browning out and looks dirty.

I wonder who made these Lenses, and are they acrylic?

I know Formed Plastics makes a poly lens that will fit this. I don't know if that's who made this one thoguh. This one is still in good shape. Most of the poly refractors yellowed to the point that it was virtually opaque and it was discusting. The newer polycarbonate lenses have more UV resistance and don't yellow as fast.

We have these refractors in some of our light around in Holyoke.

Here they're all glass lenses for the medium fixtures.

I'd say only 10% of the M-400As have them in the city

My area is almiost 99% glass even the 70w lights get glass.

Holyoke only now uses glass on all their fixtures. they used plastic back in the 80's.

There are some 250w HPS M-250R2s that have plastic lenses though. The few that do are polycarbonate replacements for the broken glaass refractors.
