Three medium voltage insulators in use behind my house, 7.2 KV
Here are three medium voltage insulators in use like mine in use, this power pole is the pole that gives electricity to my house, the wire branching off behind the lines goes to the right on this pic with a very small insulator, not the bigger one) feeds into my house.

This transformer has been replaced a few times cause it was faulty and the electricity in our house turned off a lot.

Here is a pic of some small ones in service in my backyard.

Those are not common here, unless you go out in rural areas. Most common are a pad mounted unit, feeding upwards of 100 houses depending on rating. They start at 15kVa and go up to 1 MVA.
