Yeah, the concrete poles are 50 feet overall but since they are direct burial they end up being just 43 feet above ground.

I think they might have switched to 30 or 35ft poles during the LED replacement. I know MTO did that in Waterloo when they switched from 250w HPS on 40' poles to LED on 35' poles spaced closer.

They are 40ft poles I believe and I still don't know the wattage of the LEDs on Dixie

these poles look pretty new though so it'd be a waste to install all new poles.

They are probably 1990's or a bit newer. Considering most cobraheads were R7's or AE 125's

they look like OVXs and 125s to me (aside from the nice OV-25 to the left) i guess any OVX-haters will be glad to know these are gone lol. I don't dislike the OVX but on the other hand i don't care to own one either.

Most of the R7's were removed in the last 5 years. Yeah I dislike OVX's the only Cooper light I really like is the OVH and the OVF is in the middle for me.

In my city the OVX makes up for about 50-70% of our cobraheads. Seeing some of them go would be nice

I guess if they wanted to keep these poles they could move the arms about 1/3 down from the top and the LEDs would be at a better height. It would look kinda cool too having that extra 10 feet of pole sticking up above the arms too lol.

Heh, I know of some poles with a extra 4-6' above the arm. Most of them are from the 50s and originally held double guy arms and clamshells. They removed the double guy arms and installs tapered e arms a few feet below when they change out the lume to HPS.
