Huge Westinghouse 1000W 250V lamp
I got this monster with the two /Ws. Since I have no decent access to 240V, I couldn't test it at full power. It was dim on 120V, but worked.

I have another 1000W 250V lamp not pictured, slightly different. Its base is loose though.

Is the filament loose from one of the supports?
TiCoune66   [Jul 29, 2011 at 09:14 PM]
Not at all, the filament is in used, but perfect condition!

I have a 1500 watt incandescent!!!!
Nice find! Do you have a 240 volt outlet for dryer? I am not sure in Canada, but USA has them.....simply connect one in 120 phase A and other wire in 120 phase B and VOILA you got 240 volt! Do not attempt unless you took electrical class Wink

Oh of course I knew about that. What I meant by "no decent access" is that I don't have one of those dryer or range outlets readily available. I already have the cord from our old stove, I just need a matching 14-50R receptacle and some #8/3 cable.

I did take electrical class for residential branch circuits! I connected one dryer and one range outlet with tests and all (separately though). Plus I regularly install dryer and range outlets at my job. Wink

Nice!
I've always wanted to get a higher voltage lamp like that and run it on 120v for display.
