very desolate looking area....nice pic.

Yeah it's one of a few rural roads around here, despite being in an urban area.
Form109   [May 17, 2011 at 12:36 PM]
we have roads like that...the houses and lights are spaced so wide apart it feels like the country.

Where I LIVE is rural, as most of you already know. Roads are dirt, bumpy. N o streetlights though. Just yardblasters occasionally. 285 has streetlights too.

I remember seeing something like this....It also was similar in Rockford, Illinois too..Went camping there in the summers! Fun!

There's some rural roads like that with no streetlights a bit north of where I am.
gramirez2012   [May 17, 2011 at 10:04 PM]
Yeah, ComEd only has street lights at some but not all intersections. This road is incredibly dark at night, and there's a lot of deer around here that make it even more dangerous at night.

Yeah BGE can be the same thing.....one thing I've noticed on ComEd which isn't too common in most electrical companies is how the arm and fixture is installed....when on intersections or corners....they tend to mount them diagnally on the intersections or enterances (such as residental enterances) BGE has some setups like that....having streetlight installed diagnally to the intersection or a residental enterance...but not as much as ComEd....other electrical companies doesn't seem to do such installations at all while others do!
gramirez2012   [May 17, 2011 at 11:13 PM]
Yeah I think they do that so the light is focused over the center of the intersection. There are a few of them that aren't diagonal, but I would say 95% of them are.

some places i go the only streetlights are the ones on the Signal poles...and sometimes signal poles are lightless.
