Kind of messy wiring for a GE fixture. Lots of untrimmed wires. This has and Advance ballast which is odd since I thought GE only used their own ballasts.
Hmm yeah if it were my light I'd totally trim the wires back and get rid of the stab-ins. The stab-ins GE uses are junk. Many of their LEDs die from loose stab-in connections. I'd use high heat (black) wirenuts or better yet crimp the connections.
And yep, GE used replacement ballasts for their PSMH fixtures. They only did OEM ballasts in their HPS, MV, and MH lights AFAIK.
If I ever end up installing this somewhere I'll trim the wires and get rid of the stab connectors. Also, a while back I saw a 250w GE PSMH ballast on eBay that looked OEM, similar to their HPS ballasts.
It's a possibility their early PSMH units had OEM ballasts but as far back as I can remember, they've used "replacement" ballasts. I thought they had used GE branded ones but apparently they got a better deal on a brand other than their own lmao
