2015 Special treatment Project
This is Brampton's first appearance of LED's used in a traditional 400W HPS arrangement on high poles. The streetlighting design (spacing, heights, intensity varieties) is identical to what would be done if HPS were specified. For some reason, this road widening got the perks of LED and painted black hardware. Black hardware does nothing for me as the hardware isn't anything decorative.

Cool! I like this and is this countryside drive? I think NVN's will be the common LED fixture used here in Brampton in coming years.

This shot is Creditview Rd south of Sandalwood Pkwy. So the NVN's have grown on you eh? I'm glad the used high poles as these have intense glaring.

Yeah NVNs on this project proves it can fit any set up in this city. Funny thing is all the new intersection poles along this stretch don't use black hardware/fixtures.

Yeah im getting used to LED's here now. I think they are using black because of south creditview using Acorn lights. NVN's don't bother me too much actually for LED. Its a lot nicer than the LED's in Mississauga. I guess that may mean that new streets will be using LED's from now on. Who knows when they will retrofit everything in other older areas of Brampton like Downtown Brampton, Springdale, Bramalea, and Heartlake. Theres NVN's in Bramalea in the C section and H section but thats all for Bramalea

The black poles look nice but the black arms on the wood poles just look weird IMO. I see they used black fixtures too. Here, in new developments with underground cables, they use black poles and arms with regular gray M-250R2s. I personally don't mind it though, since I don't like different colored cobraheads. They look best as standard IMO.

Im pretty sure these poles are concrete. The first Black NVN's that showed up here are Here

Ive gone streetview in RI a bunch of times LOL. I have seen some of those Black poles and equipment. The only black streetlights I saw were some postop looking fixtures. Ive seen a lot of black poles and shiny new fixtures together and it bothers me a lot lol. Shiny OVX's on black poles to me is just terrible lol.

Toronto has a bunch of Black and Green GE M250R2's

Yeah whatever... The utility poles. Razz Here all the utility poles are wood so I'm in the habit of just referring to them as "wood poles" lol.

Ah you go on Streetview roadtrips in RI? I do the same in Ontario lol. I also do it on RI to find any hiding mercs. Yeah the post top lights are black here but all the cobraheads are normal gray.

There is one LED fixture in Mississauga I like, the biggest one! I just find the elongated "wafer panel" and the control antenna placement to be pleasantly futuristic. I love driving down roads with them on high poles as the light distributes more even and the white light is very pleasant. I'm looking forward biking down this NVN'd road on a warm dark evening to see how the light quality is.

I also think black arms on neutral colour poles are weird, and its even worse they are just typical elipticals. The arms used in model25's link look a lot better with black NVN's to me, I'm thinking I like it better than the LED acorn they also pair with that arm. I think i'd like grey cobras on black arms over canadian unfinished aluminum lol.

I actually think the tapered ellipticals look better for the LEDs since the LEDs look weird on a fancy arm. I'm not a fan of the tapered ellipticals up in Canada TBH. They don't have that much of a taper. I just prefer the ones used here, but probably because its what I'm used to.

Yeah the tapered e arms seem better for them as well IMO. The NVN's in the link look ok with the decorative arm but I think normal tapered e arms would have still looked nicer.
