Here is a Douglas Power Pak bracket fixture with a fried 175W mercury vapour ballast.The fried ballast has been removed so the fixture can be restored and be replaced with a 100W  pulse start metal halide ballast.

Nice job! Did the F-can really fry entirely or it acts like your CGE low pressure sodium F-can with an abnormally low but present open circuit voltage?

Thanks Vince! This F-can would still light the lamp but there is a short,a lot of sizzling,arcing sounds inside that makes the lamp flicker and it starts getting hot in a few minutes.

Thanks George! @ Andy: No this was sitting in the shop waiting to have some work done on it,but now it is in dusk-to-dawn use.

Nice light! Who made the F-can ballast? It seems like the label either got pretty toasted or dirty over they years.

Thanks Joe! I'm not sure who made the F-can ballast but I suspect it could be a Sola Canada Ballast. It's an interesting ballast as wires to connect the PC come out of the ballast. Yes the label was cooked off of it lol.
