Here is a Douglas Power Pak bracket fixture with a fried 175W mercury vapour ballast. The fried ballast has been removed so the fixture can be restored and be replaced with a 100W pulse start metal halide ballast.
Nice job! Did the F-can really fry entirely or it acts like your CGE low pressure sodium F-can with an abnormally low but present open circuit voltage?
Thanks Vince! This F-can would still light the lamp but there is a short,a lot of sizzling, arcing sounds inside that makes the lamp flicker and it starts getting hot in a few minutes.
Thanks Joe! I'm not sure who made the F-can ballast but I suspect it could be a Sola Canada Ballast. It's an interesting ballast as wires to connect the PC come out of the ballast. Yes the label was cooked off of it lol.
