Nice, I like it looks realy good. Where did you get it from?

Nice! Glad you like the PCs I sent. Cool Joe Mauarath had given me a couple teal PCs. He said they originated from down south somewhere (i think Arizona?) Looks really nice on the R2! The R2 looks nice with your set up too.

I made it. Very Happy Just a bucket light mounting arm from Home Depot, a 2x4, some screws and 2 large hose clamps is all I had to buy. Oh yeah, and a power drill too.

Where did you get the R2 ?

The R2 was ordered from Graybar a few years ago.

Cool, I find it hard to deal with Graybar I usualy use Grainger .

Is Graybar as pricey as Grainger? I've seen Grainger's prices and they're absolutely rediculous. Shocked Even though I'm a fan of the older lights, I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a brand new M-250R2 just because that's what's used here.

I have a longing for every version of the M-250R2 lol. I want the 80s version with the semi-recessed refractor, the 1992-93 flat door version, and the one in front of my house lol. hopefully when the HPS lights in my neighborhood inevitably get changed out I'll be able to follow the linemen around like a puppy dog and score big lol. Laughing

I think Grainger is cheaper than Graybar. Yea like I did when they did the change over here call me the bucket truck chaser. Laughing

I've never used Grainger before. I think I've looked at prices on their website but if I remember correctly the prices were kinda high. I've always ordered cobraheads and NEMA's from Graybar because the salesperson who I deal with is very nice. She seems to be giving me good pricing. . . . I have gone to other distrubutors to get photocontrols though. I guess it's just where I'm comfortable going to order my lights. I don't have an account at Graybar. I'm just a cash/retail customer when I go there, but the lady I always deal with knows who I am when I call and everything. So that's why I keep going back there.

so you went around following the linemen in your area too? lol I'd like to if i get eh opportunity but i don't want to come off as a pest either. They need to get their work done so they might not appreciate me yaking away and asking for every light in my neighboorhood lol.

In my neighborhood there are 50W HPS Thomas & Betts 113s, one 100W HPS 113, two 50W HPS Cooper OVCs, 100W MV M-250A2 FCOs, a few 50W HPS 1992/1993 M-250R2 flat door lights, two mid-2000s 100W HPS Cooper OVZs, and a bunch of 90s-present GE M-250R2s in 50 and 100W HPS. I'd be interested in a 50W 113, at least one 50W M-250R2 flat door, the 100W M-250R2 in front of my house, any lights i can get on my street, and I'd love to get a M-250a2 FCO but they're on the other side of the neighborhood.

Yes I Did, infact the man on the ground told me I was like a bad penny, it never goes away, He was just kidding though and the lineman in the bucket was asking if I was going to hang out with them so I did. They were a private contractor, You problebly wouldn't be able to do that if it was the power co. although I do know a few guys hwo work for Delmarva Power.

Well in 2010 they had shut of some of the lights in Cranston (by installing open caps in the PC sockets) and then they had turned them back on after strong opposition from the residents. The light in front of my house was one of them and i had caught them turning it back on so i was out talking to the lineman and he gave me a brand new photocell, took the plastic wrapper off right in front of me and said "catch!" from inside the bucket when it was fully lowered and then he also gave me the exact open cap that was used on the light in front of my house. For a while it had the GENERAL (GE) ELECTRIC text from the PC receptacle pressed into the gasket.

I had never asked about getting any fixtures though. I'm sure NGrid, being as cheap as they are, probaby counts every light that gets installed and compares it to the number that lineman tosses in the dumpster to make sure none are "walking off". For photocells they're probably not as bad though since you can't scrap a photocell so they're not making any money off of keeping them.

If i ever see a lineman and get to talk to him I'll probably ask for all the removed photocells since most of the time the removed PCs still have years of life left, but it's company policy to replace the PC when they replace the lamp and vice-versa. i don't think they'd have an issue giving me the used photocells or at least some of them but fixtures would probably be a no-no. Doesn't mean i wouldn't try though...
