Sylvania 100w equivalent LED is here
This lamp came out just this week. At $50 don't expect me to buy one lol. The ordering code lists this as an A-21 but it's actually an A-25 (same diameter as the PS-25 mogul base 3 way). Still the price did not stop my curiosity so yesterday at another Lowes I carefully opened one of these (the two layers of packaging is held together by some rubbery glue so its easy to open/close without damage) and lit the lamp in one of the lamps on display. It has a soft start characteristic and it actually hurt my eyes to look at it! Its bright and glary from all those 56 individual emitters!

Kalifornia is dumb! I thought they were big time energy saving encouragement state?! In MD a lot of the LEDs are 50% off all year! Our L-prize LEDs are already $29.99 here!!! And those Philips Ambient LEDs are 11.99 bucks

Not bad at all!

How do you know how many emitters this lamp has?
GullWhiz   [Nov 16, 2012 at 03:22 AM]
Why does a Crow need to know? are you mistaking the emitters from bird seeds Razz

I am sure Dave hasn't counted....to be honest....
FGS   [Nov 16, 2012 at 03:28 AM]
Gulls should mind their own businesses and go back to eating day old McDonald's fries or the crows will evict gulls from all the streetlights. They either will sleep on the ground or in the trees. No more lights or power lines for the gulls. Razz Laughing

One more stunt like that. There will be WAR! Razz

You said I didn't count? That's crazy to assume! Razz Indeed I did count the number of emitters. Each of the side arrays (5 of them) contain 9 emitters. The top array contains 11 emitters. 9x5=45. 45+11=56 emitters. I think it is Osram's way of making LEDs as efficient as possible by underdriving many LEDs in order to minimize the droop effect. The 40w, 60w and 75w equivalent versions all share the same outer dimensions, just the number of emitters is different.
