Ahh. On my 1973 M-400, the photocell has plactic around the leads so the connections aren't visable. It's not a tool-free one though it has two screws.
Hmm. I think the tool free receptacles are pretty new. I know AEL used to have a screw in the middle of the receptacle. I think Cooper still hasn't made a tool free receptacle. And I don't know about Hubbell cause I haven't seen a Hubbell.
Interesting. Well the tool-less receptacle design is convenient. But I have seen I think 2 streetlights with the complete photocontrol/photocontrol receptacle hanging off the top of the fixture by the wires. Maybe the spring-thingy wasn't attached all the way, or maybe somebody simply threw a rock at it or something.
^ Not exactly, there are a few differences. How it's MOUNTED is the same, but the original Westinghouse design had the spade connectors on the Photocell socket while the coopers the wires won't deattach at ALL. But in the brand NEW coopers today there is a screw in the middle on the bottom of the PC socket that you take the bottom plastic off and deattach the wires. There are notable differences but how they are mounted it the same, with pressure and two screws.
The origional westinghouse PC receptacle mount was a pressure ring on the outside if the receptacel that would be tightened with two screws like on my OV-25 and OV-10.
