Devonte are they actually linemen? Or just traffic signal people.
GullWhiz   [Jan 27, 2011 at 01:25 PM]
Well look close up at the dudes face (click on the pic), he doesn't look too happy and looks like he's looking at you!!!!!
Form109   [Jan 27, 2011 at 09:26 PM]
@gailgrove not sure as i see the same people servicing the lines, lights and signals...i would assume he's a lineman but maybe he's just a traffic signal maintenence guy.

Yes Jace i noticed that. Shocked

Form109...easy way to know...LOOK at the logo on the truck....and find out where he works!
Form109   [Jan 27, 2011 at 11:21 PM]
The Truck said "City of Tyler" with Tyler's Logo on it.
GullWhiz   [Jan 28, 2011 at 12:16 AM]
There's a possibility those traffic lights are city lights....

Which may be why there's no lights and the traffic lights are mounted vertically......and the others with lights could be state traffic lights....

In MD, we have County traffic lights, City traffic lights and State traffic lights.
Form109   [Jan 28, 2011 at 12:32 AM]
in Tyler all streetlights and signals are city owned....the previous signal setup had poles with lights....the new ones in downtown are the only New Verticles installed so far, everything else new is horizontal.

Gotta get myself a sign like that to put near my own Flashing Yellow Arrow left turn signal. Sign looks like it was designed in MS Paint

Near me there's a flashing red left turn with a sign also...its red..not yellow!
Form109   [Jan 28, 2011 at 10:29 PM]
never seen flashing red before....my area uses to just use solid arrow now they are implementing the flashing yellow arrow.
rlshieldjr   [Jan 29, 2011 at 04:08 AM]
Looks like he's adjusting the video detection camera. I have also seen flashing yellow arrows in Pasadena and Fullerton, CA. I think this is an alternative to "protective-permissive" eg: "doghouse"
basilicon89   [Jan 29, 2011 at 05:25 AM]
Flashing Yellow arrow is the new federally-madated standard for pocket left turn permissive movements. Four section is approved by the MUTCD. A five section (doghouse style) version of the Flashing Yellow Arrow signal was tested and banned.

The technician is probably working on the video detector. I know first hand what a pain they can be if the cameras get misaligned.
