GE 60w Survivor bulb
The GE Survivor bulbs were similar to those made by smaller lamp manufacturers such as Duro-Test, Meadville (Hytron-K), Marvel, American Lamp, etc. However GE discontinued the Survivor line in 2008 following the closing of the Euclid Lamp Plant. I bought lots of these at the local 99 cents only! stores for just a dollar per pack.

I have never heard of Survivor lamps. What is this for?

The features of Survivor lamps are long life (3000 hour), vibration resistant C-9 filaments, and brass bases. Similar to Duro-Test bulbs and other long life offbrands.

As Dave knows, I found a treasure trove of these at Ollie's last summer. They had an unusual mix of 120v and 130v in mostly 60, 75 and 100w. I think they were .99 for two. Well I could not pass this up and bought about 48 of the 130v lamps in 60, 75 and 100w. The nice thing about these Survivors is the silica coating on many of them is dense enough to qualify as soft white. It varies, though. Earlier survivors used an acid etch finish which I don't like as much.
