Beautiful. Cool Is the lens acrylic or polycarbonate? (should say it somewhere but if not, knock on it with your knuckles; you'll hear the difference between polycarbonate and acrylic. Poly makes a louder sound when you hit it.)

The only thing I can see on it is a style number, and "Non Vandal Resistant". I think it's acrylic. It made a softer sound when I hit it.

Yeah sounds like acrylic for sure then. Yeah my GE acrylic lenses say NON VANDAL RESISTANT on the rim too. The polycarbonate ones make no reference to vandal resistance. Acrylic is better since it won't discolor, but it has a lower melting temperature lol. BTW has this light grown on you at all? I recall you saying you weren't a super big fan of the exposed slipfitter.

Hmm, that kind of looks like the Crouse Hinds L150. Nice find.

L-150 is what most lighting enthusiasts call them. The correct model for them is OV-15.

Oh ok, it looks like the ones I saw in the city of Tomball Texas but a bigger wattage.

The ones you saw are probably OV-25s (L-250) then. They have a rounder looking glass and are bigger in size.

The Crouse Hinds OV15 and OV25 are holdovers from the takeover of Westinghouse by Cooper. These models, and the OV50, continued until the 1985 catalog when the OVS, OVM, and OVL were introduced. Discontinued also were the TuDor versions.

And now the OV-15 and OV-25 are still made in Canada.
streetlight98   [Feb 23, 2016 at 07:07 PM]
No they're not. Westinghouse designed the "Canadian" OV-15 and OV-25 and sold it there instead of the boxy OV-15 and -25. Cooper continued the OV-15 and OV-25 until the early-mid 2000s but there haven't been any recent installations of them. The closest thing is the OVW, which is a Canadian OV-25 with a gray paint finish, a flat glass, and an OVD/Y/F reflector and is used (I think exclusively) by Texas DOT.

I had the same fixture in the same wattage (though mine was 120v)...it was my first streetlight fixture. Used to be very common in my area, but they've all been replaced with Leotek Green Cobra LED fixtures except for a few miss-outs.
