I've always liked these older 201 heads. There's one just like this, 175W Mv with the short arm, near my house but it's obviously much more worn lol. Here it is. I've only seen it on once in a while, and not recently. They also have a black plastic "yardbracket" (yardblaster-power/bracket thing) and a regular 175W MV yardblaster with the 9" bucket. See here. I've never seen the lights over the pool lit at night. If I owned the house I'd replace the lights over the pool with cobraheads. Cool

Either cobraheads or maybe even Power Brackets. Razz

Well maybe one of those 6ft Sylvania brackets. Smile

Definitely ! Better yet a 200 foot highmast with a 50 light cluster of 1500 watt MH. Razz Laughing

All for it as long as they're Holophane drop lens highmasts. Very Happy

Of course . And it being 200 feet tall we'll have to have a large obstruction beacon at the top.

i wonder what made GE design their 201 Nema heads unlike the traditional nema? its a unique shape that makes them instantly recognizable.

It looks to me that they were trying to use the least amount of cast aluminum as possible. Looks like it's so small the ballast is screwed through the casting instead of into screw holes. Have no idea about the current version. I guess maybe they kept the design similar but made it bigger so there was more room for an igniter? To this day, GE doesn't list the 201 NEMA head in PSMH, just HPS. I'd love to see a PSMH GE NEMA head. I noticed that the 201s aren't painted anymore. I love how these 201s were painte gray (though it would probably look better silver). My 1968 Westie RMA 100W MV NEMA head was originally painted silver but the paint was long gone on the outside when it got it from Jace. I repainted it with hammered silver and added a NEMA tag and it looks great.

I bought a later version in the winter of 1985 and it was mounted on the back of my house for more than 24 years before I took it down in 2004 and added it to my collection.
