Philips 175 Watt Mercury Vapor Lamp
Here is the Philips 175 watt mercury vapor lamp that was installed in the M250R1 the day it was taken out of service. It's nicely dimmed out too! I had been wanting a dimmed out mercury vapor lamp for a while too so I could turn on any of my 175 watt mercury vapor fixtures inside without it getting too bright to use indoors for lighting.

How cool! It probably still has 'Lifeguard' features too!

Not sure, they used the lifeguard formula for a short while but soon reverted back to their own tooling for making the lamps. With fluorescent lamps I think they kept the Westinghouse electrode design (that's basically all they kept Sad ) so newer Philips Altos show the same or similar wear patterns as a Westinghouse blackended would.

And I believe the CWS lamps have the 4100K UltraLume phosphor or some version thereof...
