BTW, is that brown stuff inside the lamp the beginning signs of the lamps leaking or is it just from being used? Neutral

Not sure but I think it's both. Did you ever get that Westy 400w HPS ballast going so you can test this bad boy?

Yep, Westie ballast works but It's a counterweight for the bedroom light pole so I can't take it out to test this lamp. This lamp cycles on a 250W HPS though so it's either just too aged to stay lit on 250W or it's a true cycler.

From what I've seen, generally when it's even under powered and still cycles it's generally due to high hours and will cycle on the correct ballast as well. Not saying that is always the case but generally speaking.

Ah yeah I kinda figured it was a cycler. I was sorta secretly hoping it wasn't though lol. Still a nice display lamp though. Smile

You can severely overdrive it and try to fix it that way. I saw a member on lg do that on a 100w HPS with a 400w ballast i think. It worked better after that. Laughing :hps:

That can also backfire and totally destroy the lamp. Tried that with a 100w hps lamp and it blew the arctube apart. Lol

From my experience, the small 100w HPS with the medium bases are crap. I had one where' the electrode came detached at the end opposite of the base and the arctube glowed red hot at the top of the arctube and it ended up leaking.
