G.E. M250A2 175 Watt MV
Per Mike's request, I decided to try installing my M250A2 on my streetlight display. I guess it turned out to not be too heavy after all. It looks good and lights the room very nicely. For the pictures, I installed my TORK photocontrol.

Lookin' good! Smile Can you take a pic of this with the OVZ's glass lens? I've seen the boxy A2s with OV-15/OVZ/115 glass lenses and they look really good.

Well I already took the M250A2 off the arm and put it back in the closet. And removing it from the arm wasn't very pleasant because when I was loosening the slipfitter bolts, I was standing right under it, and the fixture slipped off the arm. . . .yeah. The glass hit me on my head.

Why did you take it off? Neutral What light did you put up? Since the M-250A2 was light enough, maybe the OV-15 or OVZ will be too?

Ah at least you were there to catch the fixture before it totally fell off i guess lol. Yeah I've had some close calls so I remove the lens if it's glass, the lamp, and the door if I can and then hold the light with my left hand and unbolt it with my right (since I'm right-handed). If i can't remove the door (like if the arm is too short) I'll loosen the bolts and then close the door (after the glass refractor has been removed) and take it off the pole that way. With my pole outside I was able to remove the doors on my lights but my pole inside the arm is too short so the fixtures have to be installed and removed with the doors on, even power doors. I'm hoping my new outdoor pole's arm is long enough for my to install/remove the fixtures without the doors and install the door after the fixture is installed.

Well I haven't been leaving any of the fixtures up ever since I took down the M250R2. Right now there is no light mounted there. I took it down after I took the pictures. And since the glass refractors are heavier, I don't want the fixture to pull the screws out of the wall so I don't leave fixtures up anymore. I might take a pic of the OVZ installed on it but probably not the OV-15. I see the OV-15 being too heavy.

Yeah as I was loosening the bolts I was thinking it was probably going to fall on me. I don't know why I didn't at least take the refractor out.

Yeah the arm used for my display is too short so I have to pick up the light and slide it on the arm with the door hanging down. But I didn't have to do that with the M250A2. I left the ballast door off when I installed it. There was barely enough room for me to wiggle the door into the hinges.
