Never heard of them before but I just searched them on Google. I've worked with Rain Bird, Hunter, Toro, Nelson (bought out by Signature Control Systems), Irritrol and unfortunately even had to deal with homeowner brands like Orbit from Home Cheapo.

the sprinklers at my house are black sticks that pop out of the ground and have a single stream of water that rotates back and forth. I did a quick google search and they look like Hunter sprinkler heads.

Nice model 13! I have a bunch of Rainbird impact sprinklers,I'm into the impacts,I have Rainbird models 30 to 85E which I use for irrigating.

@Mike, what does it say on top of the sprinklers at your house? When they pop up, they pretty much all look like black sticks lol. Nowadays, there isn't much difference between the different brands of sprinklers like there used to be. They are pretty much all the same. It's basically just brand preference, what the contractor chooses to install, or what the job is spec'd at. A lot of our customers, ( I work for an irrigation supplier for those who don't know) have customers who spec Hunter so we sell a ton of Hunter products.

@lite-lover, Thanks Very Happy. Is that you who has all the videos on YouTube of different brass impacts? I love the older Nelson Beta plastic impacts and the pop up Beta impacts. But they discontinued them and came out with a new one that looks almost exactly like a Rain Bird Maxi Paw. I like the older green Rain Bird Mini Paw's too. As far as rotors go, I mostly like the older discontinued types like the Toro Super 600 and Super 700, and the Rain Bird TDR-2/R-50. Sounds like there may be a few other members possibly here on GoL who might be into irrigation? Maybe I will post pics of some heads I have in the miscellaneous albums if anybody would be interested?
streetlight98   [Jul 25, 2014 at 03:27 AM]
Hmm I don't know what they say. I'll check tomorrow and let you know.
lite_lover   [Jul 25, 2014 at 04:30 AM]
Yes that's me with the brass impacts on YouTube Laughing Sure, post some of your sprinkler heads in the misc album. Cool
HPSM250R2   [Jul 25, 2014 at 11:24 AM]
Cool Cool . Is that also you with the pop up brass impacts like the Rain Bird 15111B's? What's your YouTube name? Ok I'll post some pics maybe after work today.

My sprinklers are apparently Rain Bird T-Bird sprinkers. Smile We also have one of these in our yard:

HPSM250R2   [Jul 25, 2014 at 08:45 PM]
Cool Cool . The T-Bird was discontinued some time ago. The current replacement for the T-Bird would be the 5000.
streetlight98   [Jul 25, 2014 at 10:48 PM]
Ahh yeah they're from 2003.
HPSM250R2   [Jul 25, 2014 at 10:52 PM]
Yeah they were pretty cool heads though. It was nice how all the different size nozzles were color coded. Nowadays each rotor comes with a rack of nozzles that are all the same color. With the T-Birds, there is a color coded tab on top of the sprinkler that holds the adjustment screw that matches the color of the corresponding nozzle so you could tell how many gallons per minute the head was putting out by looking at the color of the tab.
streetlight98   [Jul 25, 2014 at 11:15 PM]
Ahh interesting. I actually just checked again and some of the heads are Rainbird 5000s so I guess the T-Birds were recently discontinued at the time of installation? They physically look the same. Are there any differences between the T-Bird and 5000 or just the model?
HPSM250R2   [Jul 26, 2014 at 12:03 AM]
Yeah there's several differences. The newer 5000's have a slip clutch feature to protect the internal gears from being damaged if the nozzle turret is forced past the stopping point. When the sprinkler is rotating, if you turn it past the point where it stops, the gearbox inside will spin freely to prevent the gears from stripping out. With the T-Bird, if you force it past the point where it stops turning, you will strip the gears out and the sprinkler will either rotate in a continuous circle or it won't rotate at all. But you should never force a sprinkler past the stopping point regardless. It's more of a "vandal resistant" feature that most brands of sprinklers today offer. The way it adjusts is different too. With the 5000, you make all the adjustments from the top of the sprinkler with a Rain Bird screwdriver. With the T-Bird, you only adjust the radius (how far the water stream will spray out) from the top. And you adjust the pattern whether it be a 90 degree rotation or 180 degree, by slipping a plastic ring down and pushing down on the top of the nozzle turret and turning it at the same time. Also the 5000's have a rubber cover on top and the T-Birds were all hard plastic on top. I could go on and on about this topic Laughing
streetlight98   [Jul 26, 2014 at 12:11 AM]
Ahh I see. Do you think the T-Bird or 5000 is better?
HPSM250R2   [Jul 26, 2014 at 12:20 AM]
I liked the T-Bird because of the color coded nozzles and how well the nozzles evenly distribute the water.
lite_lover   [Jul 26, 2014 at 02:25 AM]
I just have some brass impacts no pop up impacts,my user name is photocontrol of course. Laughing
Model25FanForever   [Jul 26, 2014 at 02:30 AM]
I like this! Very Happy

I miss seeing Model 13's. We have only 1 left. 4 were removed in an intersection upgrade 2 in a pole knockdown, and the last one *gulp* was OVX'd. There only has been 8 here I have ever known of. Who makes this green PC? It looks awesome
HPSM250R2   [Jul 26, 2014 at 02:33 AM]
Thanks Very Happy. The green PC is a Fisher Pierce. I got it on ebay a couple years ago.
streetlight98   [Jul 26, 2014 at 03:09 AM]
@ Model25FanForever ; there was four 175W MV 13s in Niagara Falls, ON, right in between the Rainbow Bridge and the falls when I went up there a couple years ago. Are they still there?

Most of our parks and greenbelts are irrigated with recycled water, reclaimed sewage that has been treated and chlorinated. It is identified by purple pipes and signs.
