BEHOLD, The MIGHTY POWER BRACKET! Just installed today. I think this is the first Power Bracket I'v had on this pole and the pole was put in 2001. I think I'll be satisfied with this bad boy, at least for a while.
Looks great! Up in NH, they have powerbrackets with Astrodome PCs. They look really sleek with no PC socket. I love the GE Power/Brackets, the only thing I'd change is putting the PC closer to the top and making it level. Looks tacky having it sideways like that but that's just my opinion. Still a great looking light. What PC is on this?
Thanks guys, this came with a standard Fisher Pierce 120 volt PC. I was going to put my NOS GE Polyvolt controll on it that came with my 1977 GE form 101 hood unit but decided I didn't want to use it since it's a rare controll.
Ah i thought that was a FP PC. I have an NOS FP photocell from 1997 too and it's 120V in its box. yeah don't put the rare ones out. I will use old PCs on my outdoor light display since the PC doesn't function 24/7, just when the light is plugged in on the rare occasion. I don't use NOS or brand new PCs since i want to keep them from the weather.
Yea I could have put a FPOLC on it but I used the one it came with, I mean this control is as basic as you can get it doesn't even have the metal shroud in it.
Yea there definitely light weights compared to the good old electrical/ mechanical one like i have from '85-'88. I'v also noticed that the FPLOC/ Sun-tech PC's turn the fixture back on for a few seconds after it shuts it off initially at dawn???? This was happening to that nema head i had mounted on my pole opposite the 115 that time.
Hmm i don't notice that here but those things are so darn sensitive they don't come on until it's virtually pitch dark out! I've seen the PCs shut off the lights at night and turn them back on though. The 100W MV M-250R1 in front of my grandparents' house "cycles" atleast once a night and I don't get why. It's the PC since you hear the CU-CLINK of the PC contacts opening and the light comes back on later. I don't know if the PC is seeing stray light somehow or something. And there's other lights that are off at night because the Sun-Tech PCs are seeing light from storefront signs or gas stations.

Maybe it's an energy saving type of control, i know they make them so they'll turn off at a certain time and then back on. yea I have a couple from the mid to late 60' and 70's they were definitely built like tanks.
Yeah no idea. But it's multiple ones that do this, all at random times and different places. There's another 100W Mv M-250R1 on their street that does this once in a while and I know of a M-250A in a totally different place that does the same thing. All have the new Sun-Tech PCs. The PC must somehow see stray light because as soon as it shuts off it turns back on (but of course the lamp takes like 10 minutes to restart)
BTW, how did this light the yard last night? Can you get a night shot? You could install a 400W MV with the skyguard just for one night to get a pic of how bright it lights the yard. You'll be able to do surgery out in the yard lol. When I get my new light pole outside I might install one of the 320W PSMH M-400A2s just to see how rediculously bright it is.
It lights the yard nicely, Sure i'll try and get a good night shot. I would put a 400 watt uop for one night if it wasn't too much trouble maybe I will if i need to get back up there for any reason.
