Oh that looks cool! I have a dayburning brown DTL in my M-250A in my room.

I just tried plugging in this M250R2 with this maroon 240V DTL on it, and it turned off when I shined a flashlight into it! So it's probably just a multivolt PC that they put a maroon cover on it and call it 240V.

Hmm maybe! That's REALLY interesting. Shocked I wonder if they actually make a 240V-only PC... Neutral

Probably not. But it says they do on their website. And the sticker on these maroon DTL's says 200-305VAC. But they probably cheat instead of making ones that only work between 200-305V, they probably just stick a maroon cover on a PC rated for 105-305V. That same thing has happened before when I ordered a 240V Sun-Tech PC. It worked on 120V just like this one did. The only 240V PC's that have not worked for me on 120V, are those maroon thermal ALR PC's at Lowes.

Makes me wonder if their 120V PCs will work on 240V....

AEL does that with their fixtures. If you order a single tap ballast of a certain type (i think regulator) the ballast will be multivolt even though the fixture tag says 120V or another single voltage.

Yeah I have noticed that with AEL fixtures. So I guess multi-tap ballasts really don't cost that much more than single-tap?
streetlight98   [Feb 16, 2014 at 08:34 PM]
Either that or they find it cheaper to just stock a bunch of multi-volt ballasts instead of some of each voltage. AEL doesn't make their ballasts. AEL uses Advance Transformer ballasts so maybe Advance doesn't make single tap for certain ballasts.
