Lumatrol energy-saving photocontrol with timer!
It came with the traffic light lens. When I opened the box, I was surprised to see that it was green, and had a timer! The green case most likely identifies the 105-305V rating. It's a pretty weird find here because the private utility, and even the former public utility never used energy-saving PCs. Maybe they wanted to try them but never did.

I had one of these same photocontrols. Dark blue identifies 105-305 volts. Im not sure why they put green covers on those.

I guess the green cover designates 105-305V photocontrols with timer or other fancy features LOL.

Hmm. I have a teal DTL photocell that's 120V. I'll have to open it up to see why it's green while the other ones i have are brown. I have three brown DTLs (1 dayburner), 2 black ones, and one teal one: all 120! I have yet to see a DTL PC that's the standard gray color!

how and what do the photocells with timers work?
TiCoune66   [Aug 11, 2012 at 03:46 PM]
The timer inside turns the photocell's load off for a certain time during the night to save energy. I think they synchronize themselves to figure out what time it is.
