were these ever made with actually colored glass like stained glass?

some japanese C7s and C9s were indeed made with stained glass, they are pretty rare.

Red is actually a good colour for night lights....you can still see around without it affecting your night vision.

@chris yep they got the same etch. Mine are from '74, i think your reds are from '75 and your yellows are older.
