Whoa! look so funny to use back up after wreck! Razz

LOL there are some davits like this here with a semi unbent davit. The fixture is replaced but RIDOT is VERY cheap with replacing poles lol. They almost always reuse the newer davits with the FCO M-400s (though the fixture will be replaced) while highways with NGrid-owned poles will have poles replaced if they fall no matter what. Even if the pole is in pristine condition. Confused

And I thought AEL 115's tilted up on good arms was a problem! Laughing
GullWhiz   [Nov 17, 2012 at 01:38 AM]
funny thing is this AEL 115 in the picture is actually NOT tilted up at all...its actually going more downwards!

MD does put back up the poles after a road kill but puts new fixtures and new breakaway bases...but if pole or arm is beyond use...then they replace them....

George, you know one of the Davit arms in I-95 in Hartford county, one of them is REALLY BENT UPWARD but in service...you know which one I am talking about?

I know of one in DE on I-95 but don't recall the one in Harford county, where abouts is it?

Here the majority of poles we have are steel, so another issue we have is rust. Heck, along the Delaware Ave. S-curve, some of the Union Metal poles installed there back in 1997 have bases already rusted clean through Mad

Yeah rust is an issue with steel poles. Here we have some aluminum poles in nearly perfect condition that were originally installed in the 40s with Form 109s.

Most MTO light poles are galvanized steel but I know the City of Toronto uses quite a bit of aluminium poles, we still have some old davit poles from the early 60s that originally held Powerlite fluorescent lights (since replaced with LPS and then 250w HPS AEL 125).

We use ganvilized steel here in MD SHA
