MH Parking Garage Lights
Here's a shot of a MH lowbay being used as a parking garage light. Note the 2X2 recessed square HID lights that it replaced. I wonder if those might have been old merc lights which were disconnected.

I know of a hardware store with similar disconnected recessed lumes, one has a BT 37 inside.

I knew a store in Wheeling, Illinois that had a bunch of recessed MV fixtures (they are 2 by 2 in round reflectors) and they were almost all fully coated BT lamps, and about 2 ED lamps and 2 or 3 clearbanders. I suspect most of them were Westinghouse. Now I suspect none of them were actually disconnected because out of I would safely say 80 fixtures, 3 or 4 of them were working, 3 of them being dim and one BRIGHT! One ED lamp was working but it went out eventually, the clearbander continued to work...then I think another clearbander was working too a bright one. None of the fully coated ones worked although one day I shopped there...one of the fully coated one that I never seen worked just one day decided to make a pinkish glow on the coating near the base which I suspect was an arc between the starting probe and the electrode.....but the next visit it was out again....

These will be gone soon as the mall wants to build a new parking garage.
