Sweet lamps! My grandpa has some old looking 100w GEs on the shelf in his basement. They're not soft white, but they are definetly diffused. Does that help with any dates? He has some other stuff too. My dad's side of the family likes to stock up on things so there are quite a few old lamps. He has one or two JB sockets as well as somw switches and other hardware.

Michael do these GEs have the light silica coating that you can see through?
streetlight98   [Mar 28, 2012 at 01:49 AM]
I'm not sure. You can't see through it like you could with a clear lamp, but it's transluscent. almost like Jace's frosted HPS lamp. EDIT: it actually looks like the coating in the one above from my memory...

What etch do these bulbs have? Does it say SOFT WHITE or not?
streetlight98   [Mar 28, 2012 at 02:06 AM]
i don't believe so. It says "100" in big numbers in the center of the etch. the etch looks like this:

Ok these bulbs are prolly OLD GEs, pre 80s! GE did not mark their soft whites with that name on the lamp etches until 1983.

Sweet! There's either one or two left in a "contractor's case" of them. The other sleeves in the case are filled with newer soft white incandescents. Cute little paper case comes with a handle too lol.

Sweet bulbs! You are so lucky to have them! Where do you get these vintage bulbs? Or have you had them for a really long time already?
Silverliner14B   [Mar 29, 2012 at 02:30 AM]
I got this 6 pack on the bay last year. Indeed very nice bulbs!
