AEL Luxmaster 53 100w HPS streetlight
At a neighborhood.

According to AEL (from my knowledge), the Luxmaster 153 has wattages to 200w to 400w HID lamps ( depending on lamp type) and the Luxmaster 53 has wattage to 50w to 175w HID lamps (depending on the lamp type). Correct me if I'm wrong.

You are correct. These are also available with a square drop lens. The Braga Bridge in Fall River, Massachusetts used these with drop lenses. They were replaced by LeoTek GreenCobra lights recently. I think the LeoTeks are 66W or something like that. I think the HPS lights were 150W, kind of low for a freeway IMO but they were closely spaced.

I never seen a drop lens version before. I think ebay has one.

Minneapolis, MN has lots of these with the square refractors as well as FCO as seen here. They are most common in 250w HPS but there are some in 150w too. Unfortunately they are falling victim to crap-brown Leotek toilets.

Now I wonder if the lens is changeable, to put a drop lens. Confused

Pretty sure they are since the drop lens versions use the same reflector except they are silver instead of black on the edges.

As of now, AEL (Acutiy Brands) discontinued the Luxmaster 153 (high wattage). But however, they are still making the Luxmaster 53 (low wattage).

But the 53 is no longer offered in drop lens. Sad
