CGE and Econolite
Here is a CGE double guy on a polefab along with a brand new (under 6 months) old Econolite Signal. The CGE's here were converted to LED a few years ago above the picture where i was are 12-12-12-12 CGE signals.

There are also little speakers that "chirp" while the walking man is on

weird the new pole is octogonal and not like the other polefabs and doesn't have a base converter

I wonder if those are Polefab octogonal poles. They're replacing the signal poles in my neighbourhood and the new poles are all octogonal Polefabs.

BTW where is this intersection?

This is Queen and Yonge St in Elmvale

They wouldnt need an adaptor plate because the old polefab was direct buried. The base for this one was poured fresh for this size of octogonal pole

Thanks, hmm interesting to see direct buried Polefab signal poles.

Direct Bury Signal polefabs seem rare. I only know of one left that direct bury here . Maybe the only reason they didnt replace it was because there is proposed road widening there sometime in the next few years

Yeah they'll usually replace all the signal poles if they're widening so it makes sense if they're holding off.

I wonder if the practice of direct bury signal polefabs was made against new installation code at some point. Ive only ever seen 2 direct bury polefab signal poles and both were here in Brampton

I wonder too, I haven't seen a direct buried metal signal pole here. Only when they mount a signal to a existing wood or concrete pole.
