This would either be 35 or 55 watts. 90 watts and up can't burn vertical like this, only 55 and under. Nice shot BTW. 5 stars. Cool

@streetlight98, thank you. Very Happy

Nice! I haven't seen a LPS NEMA in my area, but we had LPS on the expressways a few years ago.

I've only seen LPS on the mass pike (Interstate 90) I've never seen LPS lit in person thoguh.

why can't higher wattage LPS burn vertically (base up)
streetlight98   [Feb 17, 2012 at 01:52 AM]
I believe it has to do with the sodium clotting at the bend and overall bad performance.
Form109   [Feb 17, 2012 at 03:32 AM]
is there that much sodium in there?
streetlight98   [Feb 17, 2012 at 07:16 PM]
Maybe. The sodium won't block the bottom of the tube, I think it just won't circulate as well.

That really looks like high pressure sodium to me.
TiCoune66   [Apr 24, 2012 at 12:43 AM]
But I see the tip of the LPS lamp! xD
streetlight98   [Apr 24, 2012 at 01:27 AM]
And this had a LPS reflector (it's much deeper than a standard HID NEMA head reflector).
GullWhiz   [Apr 24, 2012 at 03:31 PM]
Yes it is a LPS, It is most likely a 18 watt judging the size....if it was 35 watt the tip would be a bit farther out but not sticking out...
