Unlike the US and Canada traffic lights where the light goes to green directly from red, here in Israel, it goes red-amber before it goes green.
In junction where you allowed to go more than 60km/h, the green light flashes 3 times in the last 3 secs before going to amber and than red.
In an older traffic signal light timing, it will go green - green/yellow - red - red/yellow - green cycle. My late father bulid the 4-way traffic signal light with switch and that is how he wired up.
