A bit too close!
This GE 100/150 sv fixture lays up against the 3 wire open buss, it is also less than 16" from a 4kv primary feeder. I was able to repir the fixture, however it was turned in due to clearence issues.

powerlines too low or the 15 foot truss arm mounted too high?

Scary!

And it's only 4 kV! Over here we have 14.4 kV lines!

4 kv is old school in the Baltimore area. 13 kv is slowly making it's way in areas where the 4 kv is found.

Will the fixture and arm be replaced or just moved? Here i'm betting NGrid would replace the arm and fixture versus repositioning it. Sad

From what I have seen, it varies, I have seen old MV get moved or put back up also.

I've noticed sometimes if a fixture needs replacement here they'll occasionally replace the arm if it's longer than 6ft (probably to get the scrap value out of the aluminum). It happened near me. A 250W HPS M-400 split door on a 10ft truss arm just quite working. It was replaced by a 250W HPS M-250R2 on a 6ft upsweep arm. Mad There's another M-400 split door the next pole away that has never stopped working ever since i moved into the area in 2003. On the other hand, i've lost count how many times the M-250R2 has been relamped. Rolling Eyes

Yes Tony (Antstar85 himself has mentioned he noticed longer arms are removed and shorter arms get installed) In my area, it seems now days longer arms are preferred over shorter arms..we have a LOT of brand new 20 foot truss arms....BOTH on roads and private property roads

Although the newer truss arms we have are Curlees instead of HAPCO which seemed to have ceased since 2000. The pic above is a 15 foot HAPCO truss arm.

Ack! The my utility also does this short arm business, they seem to randomly substitute 6 foot arms where a 8 footer used to be and it looks quite tack imo, especially since they also mix FCO and drop lens. Rolling Eyes

Linemen are getting lazier.....too many short arms are kinda boring.....glad PEPCO and BGE and even Demarva Power and SMECO still installs long arms!

Any update on this light? i'm guessing by now it has either been repositioned or replaced. Neutral Hopefully it was repositioned!
