I think it is more than 30 feet. because...we have a lot of 30 footers here and nothing looks like this! This looks more of like 40 feet!

Its ironic because it is longer then the pole is tall!

Maybe they want to light the MEDIAN instead of the road! LOL

our Interstate Arms are Are Around 15 Feet....in some areas of Waco the older Interstate Arms are Shorter Bottom Braced Upsweeps and Double Guy Wire Masts.

Our highway arms are around 8 feet for the aluminum tapered Es and 6 and 9 feet for the older steel truss arms. I've seen longer arms here on other roads but none as long as this one.

Michigan! I75 north out of Auburn Hills? Near the mall.
gailgrove   [Jan 14, 2011 at 10:37 PM]
It is I75 but this is on the Northern Peninsula just after the Mackinac Bridge here Razz

I could try to measure this thing with my special type of ruler....

I used a special scaling type of ruler...this thing is DEF 40 feet...this probably WON as the LONGEST arm in this gallery...and probably EVER! congrats!

Looks like a traffic light mast. Laughing

Thanks Jace, I don't understand the point of these arms though, if you look at the street view they mounted the poles 40 feet back from the road, unless they wanted to put them in the "clear zone" so they didn't need to use breakaway bases. Yeah I guess it does look a bit like a traffic signal mast arm (much longer than the ones here though, ours are at most 22 feet long)
GullWhiz   [Jun 19, 2011 at 02:52 PM]
Our longest traffic light masts in MD that I know of are 70 footers

They need to start using arms this length at a lot of intersections here Laughing
There is a number of intersections where the light only reaches the corners and crosswalks and nothing out to the middle of the intersection.
