Westinghouse 400w Mercury Vapor /W (White) at start-up
The etch is a little sloppy on this NOS lamp, but the date code appears to be X9. The first flashes were pink before turning a dull yellowish color, then blue-white as it warmed up. My spectro-scope shows interesting red/orange blend at full run-up. Pretty cool!

Nice find! I've always had my eye out for a Westinghouse Lifeguard lamp, but haven't had luck. That lamp will likely out live you and I.

Nice find Don! I myself have found a very nice 400 watt /DX cleartop Sylvania which is a NOS or slightly used....and I also revived a dead 400 watt GE Bonusline Cleartop that has a /C phosphor dating to I believe 1962

Cool Jace...any cleartop lamp is ALWAYS cool, especially an old cleartop Bonusline. Rare. I bought this lamp off of ebay the other day. The seller had about four of these listed as /C...but to my surprise, I ended up with a /W!

Is that the seller in MA? I bought one off him, and mine turns out to be a /C. Very nice lamp indeed. X9 is December 1969. Mine is from March 1971.

i have a NOS Ken-Rad /W 250 watt MV lamps...yes nifty stuff! When mine starts up it has a bit of orangish hue...put it under a black light...you'll see a faint orange glow buddy!

I have a Ken-Rad 100w /W yes it is a nice lamp. But my favorite /W is the Radiant 250w.
